A community church with a straightforward brief and an awkward constraint: light the building evenly, and hide the fittings wherever it is possible to hide them.
The work was carried out in conjunction with the Diocese of Ely Net Zero Carbon scheme, which helps churches replace old, power-hungry lighting with LED. Lower running costs, a smaller carbon footprint, and a building that is considerably more pleasant to sit in.
The churchwarden's verdict is below. The line we are proudest of is that the whole process from survey to completion was simple, because that is rarely how church projects get described.
The parishioners of Christ Church Whittington are delighted with the new lighting which has been installed by Ferrie Electrical Services Ltd in conjunction with the Net Zero Carbon scheme. Matthew has installed the new lighting with great care, leaving the church clean and tidy. The new light units he suggested blend into the building very well and we are looking forward to lower electricity bills! The whole process from survey to completion has been very simple and we recommend other churches to take the opportunity to participate in the scheme where offered.
Matt has come round to sort out various elements of the electrics in our new house. I have been very impressed by the efficiency, honesty and quality of his work.
